Rescued from a local wood mill, the wood type is pine. Made with a non-toxic food grade finish and complete with an epoxy handle.
A write up by the artist:
Seaweed started as a pine board with beautiful knots. I was fiddling with the bandsaw to try to make a unique shape that gave Seaweed beauty and functionality. A handle was created along with a hole in the handle to allow for easy presentation and the ability to hang this charcuterie board up when finished. It looked beautiful yet something was missing, if it was to be hung on the wall I wanted to add some color. I started with blue and then I added some green. The mixing continued until I was happy with the design. It looked just like seaweed and that’s how he got his name! The colours were created using 100% food grade epoxy along with micca to colour the epoxy no harmful finishes were used to create Seaweed.
